Shockingly, I've got a horrible cold again.  I've also reinstalled vista after forgetting how hideous it is, but now I remember.  Oh god how I remember.  ALL I'M TRYING TO DO IS COPY SOME PHOTOS OFF THE EXTERNAL DRIVE THAT I ALREADY SHARED ONTO A STRANGE AND FOREIGN MAC COMPUTER. 

I suppose I should be grateful that I finally managed to get sound working, graphics drivers are no longer 1/3 the speed of XP, and persuaded the bloody thing that I had in fact purchased a copy legally, rather than installing a leetjuarez illeagalissimo avast ye scurvy pirate version.  Hard to believe that anyone would in fact part with their hard earned for this, I know...
